These special-edition, larger and heavier Skerries Pro’s celebrate a new British Record Atlantic Bonito of 9 lb 12 oz, officially ratified by the B.R.F.C. The record was set by Sidewinder Managing Director David Kiddy, caught out of Ilfracombe aboard the Reel Deal on August 13th, 2025, using a 7” Skerries Pro in Super Real colour.

The day behind the development of this product was a truly special one for High Street Tackle - it was one of our trips that we arrange for friends and customers out of Ilfracombe. The day was already a good one with bass after bass coming and good ones in the high 60 and ow 70cm bracket - all of a sudden it became apparent that David had hooked into something different! For a good few minutes it was being named as the bass of aa lifetime or maybe a tope…eventually we saw it was a bonito and then all hell broke loose and the celebrations began - see our social media channels for some of the video footage.
